The God’s Girl Breast Cancer 5K Walk-A-Thon will show love and support for survivors and those currently fighting from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Zebulon City Park. The event will include a featured speaker, music, fun and fellowship at 7818 Highway 19 in Zebulon. The registration cost is $25 and a portion of the proceeds will be gifted to breast cancer survivors.
“Ophelia Fuller was diagnosed with breast cancer but continued to work her business and take care of her family even though she was tired and going through treatment. She became our SHERO instantly and to show our love and support, we held a basketball alumni fundraiser so she could get the things she needed throughout her treatment. She said that gave her more strength to endure and God birthed within her God’s Girl Ministries that Willie Matthews and I are now part of. Now every year, we do a fundraiser to give proceeds to someone who is battling or is a survivor of breast cancer to do the same we were able to do for our SHERO. The whole goal of God’s Girl Ministries is to inspire a generation of women to love themselves completely and live life intentionally and with a purpose.”
