Jubilee set for Oct. 18-19

For the 41st year in a row, the Concord Country Jubilee will bring visitors from near and far Oct. 18-19 for a day of shopping, food, games and fellowship with old neighbors and new friends. Saturday morning will start early with the Jubilee Jaunt Fun Run at 7:30 a.m. The Jubilee Jaunt 5K will start at 7:45 a.m. Register at Concord city hall or email melissabwhitley@att.net. Proceeds help support mission work overseas. The Concord Country Jubilee parade will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. This year, a street dance will be held Saturday night in front of the Strickland Building from 7-10 p.m. Singing and entertainment will be performed all day Saturday and Sunday inside the Strickland Building. A Sunday morning church service will be held at 9 a.m. in the Strickland Building. Vendors and visitors will fill Main Street as the aroma of freshly cooked foods and desserts drift along. Other popular attractions will return such as the train rides, inflatables, games for kids and the petting zoo.
