Members of the Keep Pike County Beautiful Board voted to give the $16,000 budgeted to them back to the county Dec. 11 as no one could fill the executive director position.Member Edd Sanders led the meeting and reported that no one applied to be a member of the board when it was advertised. None of the current members were able to take the executive director position.”As it stands right now we are without an executive director,” said Sanders. “The quandry is that we are budgeted $16,000 of taxpayers money and we have nothing to do with it.”The board voted to return the money to the county and discontinue use of their office. They will ask commissioners to dedicate the money to the health department since it offers so much to the community, especially during flu season. The next scheduled meeting is for March 8.
