Ken Scott to host magical time at library July 29

He has performed for Usher, Shaquille O’Neal, the Atlanta Braves and at the White House – and now Ken Scott will perform for Pike County. The J. Joel Edwards Public Library will welcome Atlanta’s own comedy magician Ken Scott for the summer reading finale this Saturday, July 29 at 1 p.m.

“Like a lot of magicians and school assembly performers, I got bit by the ‘magic bug’ when I was very young,” said Ken. “I received a magic set as a gift and from that moment on, I was hooked! But unlike a lot of other kids, I never lost interest. Eventually, I decided this was going to be my full-time job. And 24 years ago, that’s what I did. Every year I average about 350 shows. It’s a lot of hard work performing that much, but when you love what you do as much as I do, every workday is fun!”

Ken is a four-time winner of the Greater Atlanta Magician of the year award. In addition, he was also featured on CNN Headline News, where he headlined their segment on A Day of Magic.

This library program is free and open to all ages.

“Bring the whole neighborhood for this rare opportunity to enjoy a magical hour that you will long remember,” said library assistant manager Helen Carter.
