Killingsworth pleads guilty; forced to resign

Pike County magistrate judge Priscilla Killingsworth pleaded guilty to one count of unprofessional conduct Friday morning in Upson County superior court. Killingsworth was sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $1000. She was ordered to resign her post immediately and is banned from seeking any elective office in Georgia for life. Killingsworth admitted her failure to deposit fees in a timely manner. Her granddaughter, clerk Brandy Vaughn, pleaded guilty to one count of theft by taking. She was sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $1000 for stealing $70 belonging to Pike County, Georgia. The hearing was held in Upson County because no superior court was held in Pike and the parties wanted the issue resolved as soon as possible.
