Leland Tyler Shoemake, age 6, of Williamson, passed away September 25, 2015 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Egleston. Leland was a first grade student at Pike County Primary School. He was a gifted child who enjoyed school, Minecraft, history, CSX diesel trains, Legos, sharks, ships like the Titanic, and playing baseball. His favorite shows were Tom and Jerry and Impractical Jokers and his favorite movie was Jaws.He is survived by his parents: Timothy and Amber Shoemake; brother: Logan Shoemake; grandparents: Linda Wike of Jonesboro, Jeffrey Mitchell of the Philippines, John and Bonnie Shoemake of Jonesboro, Ollie Hoover of Jacksonville, FL and Sandra Rogers of Hampton; aunts and uncles: Cody Knowles, Levi Knowles, Brady Wike, Brian Goss, Preston Hoover, Brent and Tierra Goss, Michael Goss, Kevin Shoemake and Melissa Shoemake; great uncles and great aunts: Tony and Pam Green of Kennesaw, Pam and Shawn Coffman of Rex, and Sharon Thurmon of Lawrenceville; best friends: Levi McGouirk and Cameron Willis and their mothers, Jennifer McGouirk and Alicia Almon.Friends may visit the family on Sunday, September 27, from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 28, at 4 p.m., at Oak Hill Baptist Church, 100 Lakeside Drive, Williamson, GA 30292. Pastor Steven Bell will officiate. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.Moody-Daniel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
