Lifeflight lands on Shackelford Road

Emergency personnel, deputies have responded to a call on Shackelford Road in northeast Pike where a 9-year-old has reportedly been seriously injured. A lifeflight helicopter has been dispatched.Investigators, sheriff Jimmy Thomas, deputies and volunteer firefighters were on the scene at the rural home. A lifeflight helicopter landed in the front yard of the residence around 5 p.m. and lifted off en route to an Atlanta hospital around 5:15 p.m. More details to be released later.
