Local special needs woman was beaten to death

A Newton County caregiver has been charged with the beating death of Susan Walter, sister of Joe Walter of Zebulon.Cornelius Richardson-Bethea, 44, was jailed by Newton County authorities Monday and charged with murder.Walter, 47, was found badly beaten and her death was ruled to be caused by blunt force trauma. Investigators said Richardson-Bethea was caring for Walter in her home and that Walter was the only client/patient there.Richardson-Bethea remains in the Newton County jail after bond was denied.
