Local teen shot in head

Joshua Lively, 17, was shot at a home in a Williamson subdivision Wednesday, Jan. 9 by his step father Paul Johnson after Lively became aggressive while holding a knife. Lively underwent surgery Wednesday night after allegedly being shot in the head at the home on Quail Run in the 362 West Place subdivision in Williamson. He was lifeflighted to Atlanta Medical Center. According to Sheriff Jimmy Thomas, officers responded to a call for help from the house around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday and found the young man with a gunshot wound that required immediate medical attention. ”This is still under investigation but it does appear to have been a domestic dispute,” he said. Many interviews were conducted Wednesday evening but no arrests have yet been reported. The sheriff’s office will released an official statement Thursday morning. Friends of the victim have posted via social media that Lively had had dropped out of school, been kicked out of his home and was climbing in a bedroom window when shot. Some family members have claimed the stepfather mistook the teen for a burglar and opened fire. There are also reports from family that surgeons had to halt surgery on Lively because his blood pressure plummeted. Law enforcement officials have not confirmed any of this information.
