New benches, a horseshoe pit and a brick fire ring behind the Allie Bankston Edwards Senior Center will provide older Pike countians a place to gather outdoors. The additions are D.J. Bugh’s Eagle project, a requirement for becoming an Eagle Scout. He raised $802 for materials and worked 75 hours alone and a total of 305 hours with other volunteers to complete the project. It took two months and was finished in January. He even chopped a pile of wood to get them started using the fire ring.Bugh is a member of Troop 263 in Lovejoy and a senior at Pike County High School. He is the son of Danny and Kena Bugh of Concord. From left are senior center director Rosemary Logan and Bugh.
