A 22-year-old Milner man was killed Saturday night in a one car crash on Buffington Road here.Ryan Wilson, 22, was traveling west on Buffington Road and sometime during the night Saturday, Oct. 13 he struck the guardrail of a bridge, sending his vehicle off the road, according to the traffic division of the Pike County sheriff’s office.The black 2003 Ford F-250 landed upside down in the creek and he was partially ejected from the vehicle. Maj. Doug Morris said deputies were dispatched to the scene Sunday, Oct. 14 at 10:13 a.m. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:29 a.m. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.Several of Wilson’s friends were at the bridge Monday morning. They reported they started looking for the victim at 11 p.m. Saturday night and searched through the night. After about an hour of sleep, they resumed searching Sunday morning and located the truck and body just after 10 a.m.It appeared the truck rode the rail on the south side of the bridge before plunging over. The friends noted the bridge is narrow, the concrete railing very low and there were no guardrails or signage on the approach to it.Buffington Road is off of Harden Road at New Hope Church Road. The accident occurred in Pike County but was not far from Etheridge Mill Road and the Lamar County line.
