Man, woman arrested for theft

Pike County Sheriff’s investigators arrested two suspects for a theft at Cadies Corner convenience store on Highway 19. On Jan. 23, it was reported by a store employee that a bank bag had been stolen.

Investigators determined two suspects worked together to distract the employee and steal the money. While one suspect gained the employee’s attention at the rear of the store, the other entered and took the money. Approximately $2,000 was reported to have been taken by the suspects.

Investigators identified Austin Opry, 26, and Jennifer Green, 24, as the suspects involved. A search warrant was served at the residence both individuals had been living at in Pike. Evidence collected linked both suspects to the crime. Both were charged with felony theft by taking.
