Mrs. Margaret Mangham Brown age 99 of Meansville Ga, died Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Riverside Health and Rehab.
A lifelong resident of Pike County, Mrs. Brown was born on April 23, 1924 in Ashburn, GA to the late Floyd Elmer Mangham and the late Georgie Adams Mangham. She was a member of Pine Mountain Church of the Nazarene where she served as a member of the church board, youth Sunday school teacher, adult Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, and NWMS president for many years. She also served as a member of the camp board, camp treasurer, and camp director for Pine Mountain Holiness Campground until it closed in 2002. She served on the Pike Board of Equilization and as a member of the Board of Tax Assessors for ten years. She retired from the William Carter Company with 25+ years service. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her spouse, Early Ernest Brown and her son, Barry Elmer Brown.
Survivors include her son, Virgil Lee (Sallie) Brown of Concord, Ga; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Riverside Nursing Home for the loving care they provided.
Funeral services for Mrs.Brown will be held on Friday June 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Mountain Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday June 1, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
