Mary Drumheller

Mary Drumheller went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice in Grifin, GA. Mary was 92 years old.  Mary was born in Saint Albans, WV on March 4, 1932 and raised in Alum Creek, WV.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years, Vernon Owen Drumheller; her parents Charles Pell Carr and Lottie Faye Bowman Carr.  Siblings that proceeded her in death; Anna Morris, Joseph Carr, Charles Pell Carr, Jr, F. Glenn Carr, Esther Rowe, Samuel Carr, Rebecka Boone, Margaret Boggs and Audra Carpenter.  Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Stuart Owen Drumheller and Lena Madeline Robinson Drumheller.  Brother-in-Law, Larry Lee Drumheller; and Son-In-law, Larry Seabolt.
Survivors include her daughters, Verna (Gary) Shell of Griffin, GA and Lois Seabolt of Griffin, GA; Son, Vernon Ray (Bilda) Drumheller of Mt. Hope, WV; Grandchildren, Joel Drumheller, Leah (“OJ” Olajide) Cotton, Ezra Drumheller and Makayla (Caleb) McDaniel; Great-Grandchildren, Lincoln & Elizabeth McDaniel; Sister, Betty Tinsley; Brothers, Robert (Helen) Carr, Thomas (Abby) Carr and a slew of nieces and nephews and cousins.

After graduating from High School, she worked at the C & P Telephone Company switchboard and was a clerk at the FBI in Washington DC.  After marring Vernon they made their home in St. Albans, WV.  Mary worked at several stores in the Kanawha Valley before her children came along.  After raising her children, she went to work for Kelly Girls in Charleston, WV in various jobs and landed a Clerical position for UFCW Local 400 H & W Fund where she retired.   After retiring she was busy volunteering at the Union Mission Charleston, WV in the Thrift Store and Mailings.  She was active in her church and sang in the choir.

She attended Bethany Baptist Church in St. Albans, WV before moving to Griffin and attended Berean Baptist Church. 

Funeral service for Mary Drumheller will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Berean Baptist Church, 2677 Highway 41, Griffin, GA with Pastor Mark Davis officiating.  
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM until the service hour at the church.  

Entombment will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Cunningham Memorial Park Upper Chapel in St. Albans, WV officiated by Pastor Tim Campbell, under the direction of Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home St Albans, WV.     

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gideons Bibles (The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251), Mission Funds at Bethany Baptist (2504 Grant Ave, St Albans, WV 25177) or to Berean Baptist Church (2677 Highway 41, Griffin, GA 30224), in her memory.
