Pike County High School music students will host their second Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, April 23 in the high school cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cafeteria will transform into a 25+ bed showroom filled with all sizes and styles. Name brands like Simmons Beautyrest, Malouf and Englander will be available for less than retail prices and delivery and financing will also be available.
“Our amazing regiment students have worked hard to perform their very best at competitions, parades and games! They were rewarded for their hard work with straight superior ratings at competitions in Newnan this past November. In addition to this, many of our students go on to play in college, earning scholarships,” said band director Lee Ewing. “These students eat, sleep, and breathe regiment! Please help them out by making your next mattress purchase through our fundraiser!”
Founder of the Mattress Fundraiser, Joe Matejka says one in 10 people buy a new mattress every single year. He said the special event offers the community a quality product they need, at a great price and the best part is every sale benefits the school.
“With funds raised through events such as this, the regiment is able to purchase instruments, such as the three brand new sousaphones we just purchased. Also, new uniforms are being purchased, along with new plumes for the uniforms. The students can receive direct credits for recruiting customers to the event, which can go toward our upcoming trip to Universal Studios next spring!”
