Melanie McLeRoy Howard, age 67, of Pike County, passed away April 17, 2022, at Westbury Care Home in Jackson. She grew up in Pike County, daughter of the late Harold and Mildred McLeRoy. Melanie attended Pike County High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a member of Rock Springs Church in Milner, loved flowers and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Sanford and her brother-in-law, Joe Futral.
She is survived by her sister: Wanda Futral; brother and sister-in-law: Johnny and Joan McLeRoy; brother-in-law: Earl Sanford; son: Dan Haskell Carraway; daughter: Heidi Pritchett; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, April 20, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., in Moody Memorial Gardens with Dr. Benny Tate officiating.
