Memorial Day rededication

The Pirates high school band played to a large crowd as part of the Pike County Memorial Day Celebration and Veterans Monument Rededication sponsored by American Legion Pike Post 197. Almost 144 flags were given out to attendees. During the ceremony, those accepting the flags pledged to locate a veteran’s grave and place the flag at the grave. ’The ultimate goal is to have all veteran’s graves in Pike County honored by having flags placed on them during Memorial Day and Veterans Day,’ Bailey said.
