The Molena Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle Saturday, Aug. 5 when the driver sped away down Highway 18 toward Zebulon. Pike County Sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit and the driver, Lavarious Marshall, 30, of Villa Rica, wrecked his motorcycle on the courthouse square near the parking lot between the post office and United Bank headquarters.
He attempted to flee from the scene of the crash but was apprehended and arrested.
Marshall was charged with fleeing and eluding and obstruction of officers by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and is facing other charges from the Molena Police Department, including driving with learners permit only, failure to maintain lane and no license plate.
