New commissioners sworn in; first meeting Jan. 14

Two new commissioners – Tim Guy for the District 1 seat and Tim Daniel for the District 2 seat – were sworn into office recently and will experience their first meeting facing the audience Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. Both new commissioners attended many meetings before and after being elected May 20, 2014. District 1 commissioner Tim Daniel will take the seat of former commissioner Carol Bass who did not pursue another term as commissioner. Daniel has lived in Pike County since 2008 and is a funeral director and co-owner of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon. District 2 commissioner Tim Guy will take the seat of former commissioner Tamra Jarrett who decided not to run for the office again after her first term. Guy is a lifelong resident of Pike who has owned a business in the county for 21 years.
