Not snow fast…

Though snow was falling early Friday in extreme north Georgia, Pike County will see only a light dusting of flakes and you will have to get up early Saturday to see those if current forecasting models hold true. At present, snow is expected here during the 3 a.m. – 6 a.m. time period Saturday. Temperatures will rise above 32 degrees by 9:30 a.m. so any snow on the ground won’t be there long. Pike took another heavy rain overnight Thursday and sustained winds of 15-20 mph are expected to blow in Saturday. Therefore, the biggest danger here likely will be downed trees impacting roads and power lines. Weather models can change. Be vigilant. Check back for updates.
