Offices up for election in 2024

Qualifying for county offices will be held March 4-8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 8. Offices up for election in the May 21 General Primary include sheriff, probate judge, magistrate judge, Clerk of Superior Court, tax commissioner, coroner, board of commission chairman, county commission District 3 and District 4 and board of education District 3, 4 and 5.

Qualifying fees are $424.08 for county commission chairman, $385.53 for county commission, $1,660.34 for tax commissioner, clerk of Superior Court and Probate Court judge, $1,693.55 for Magistrate Judge, $1,927.66 for sheriff, $367.53 for coroner, $61.50 for board of education District 3, $84.00 for board of education District 4 and $57.48 for board of education District 5.

Logic and Accuracy testing of voting machines to be used in the March 12 Presidential Preference Primary will be conducted from 9 a.m. Feb. 5 at the board of elections office until completed. See the Logic and Accuracy Testing ad on page 3A.
