Pike County Public Works crews will close a portion of Old Zebulon Road beginning Aug. 1 as construction on the road begins. ’This construction is being conducted in preparation for the upcoming resurfacing of this route from Highway 19 to Roberts Quarters Road,’ said county manager John Hanson. ‘This route will be closed temporarily at the intersection of Howell Road and Old Zebulon Road between the addresses of 2660 and 2844 on Old Zebulon Road. There will be no thru traffic due to the construction at this intersection.’ Detour routes will be provided by signs in the area and will include the use of Cook and/or Sullivan Road. Weather and construction processes permitting, the route should be reopened within 48 hours of the start of the construction. ’Please plan accordingly for your travel in this area and if you have any questions or need assistance please contact our office at 770-567-3406,’ said Hanson.
