Opry House fundraiser this Saturday

A special concert fundraiser for the Opry House will be held this Saturday, June 22 at the Pike Auditorium with music starting at 11 a.m. and going throughout the day. ’Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts to all the bands who have so graciously volunteered. Words seem inadequate to say how much we appreciate everyone supporting us’ said Charlotte Kirkland. Bands scheduled for the show include the Appalachian Travelers at 11 a.m., Tommy, Rita and Luke at noon, New Creation at 1 p.m., Kirkland and Friends at 2 p.m. Colonel Mustard at 3 p.m., Sassy Grass at 4 p.m. and Mark Hall and Filmore House Band at 5 p.m. Hamburger or hot dog plates will be available throughout the day and they will include baked beans, cole slaw and chips as well as a beverage for $8. ’We hope to have some homemade goodies for purchase too,’ said Charlotte. ‘We’re looking forward to seeing you there with us. And if anyone would like to volunteer to help, please contact us.’ Supporters of the Opry House are selling t-shirts that say ‘˜Friends of the Opry’ on the front and ‘˜Keeping the Music Alive’ on the back. They are available in pink, blue and light gray.
