Pirates top Cavaliers 49-48 in Thursday night thriller

UPDATE: The Pirates won the game 49-48 in a thriller!

The Pike County Pirates (2-2, 1-0) travel to Callaway Stadium in Lagrange tonight to take on the Callaway Cavaliers (2-2, 1-0). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The ‘Cavs ripped Southwest 57-20 last week. Their only other win was the season opener in which they topped Mount Zion. They have losses to Bowdon 32-3 and Whitewater 30-20.

Pike is 1-7 all-time against Callaway. The last meeting was here in 2024 when the Cavs rolled to a 53-0 win. This Callaway team does not appear to be the talented one from that meeting. The 2024 ‘Cavs went 9-3 and made it to the second round of the state playoffs.
