Icy conditions in north Georgia stopped mail from getting to local post offices Monday, but the Pike County Journal Reporter arrived on time in mailboxes Wednesday as expected. Trucks carrying mail from distribution centers in Atlanta were unable to make it to the Zebulon Post Office Monday, even though they were open for regular office hours. Primary roads were mostly clear by Wednesday afternoon and secondary roads’ conditions are improving, but temperatures are expected to stay below freezing until Friday.
