PCHS asst. principal under investigation

Pike County High School assistant principal Jim Williams is on administrative leave with pay pending results of an ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a female student. Michael Duncan said there is an in-house investigation and he confirmed the Pike County sheriff’s office was notified. ’Information came to my attention through a staff member who was concerned,’ Duncan said. Williams was placed on administrative leave with pay as per school and state policy. School system human resources director Michael Gray said the matter came to his attention Thursday, April 9. ‘Once we got word of an allegation of activities that might have been of interest to the sheriff’s office, we notified them of our investigation,’ Gray said. ’We have not at this point determined anything was criminal,’ Gray said. ‘It’s ongoing and we’re just trying to gather as much information as we can.’ Williams became a PCHS assistant principal at the start of this school year. He was previously an assistant principal at a high school in Haralson County in North Georgia. No criminal charges had been filed as of last week.
