The Pike County High School Gymnastics and JV teams earned first place March 23 at The Lovett School.
“Our meet March 23 at The Lovett School was a tough one,” said PCHS gymnastics coach Shannon Turner.
“The girls fought for every point we earned. The varsity was up against five very good Atlanta-area teams. We were able to hold off the second place team, Milton HS, by only 0.3 – Pike 100.250, Milton 99.950. The JV Team came in 1st place as well, competing against Lovett’s and Locust Grove’s JV teams.”
The PCHS gymnastics teams will travel to Westminster on Wednesday, March 29 for their final meet of the regular season.
“We are currently ranked eighth for A-5A Division. Hopefully, with our win at Lovett, we’ve improved our ranking, and with a solid meet on the 29th, we should hold steady. At the end of the season, the top 8 teams will make it into the Preliminary meet on April 19-20.”

The PCHS JV gymnastics team earned first place March 23 at The Lovett School, including (l-r) Morgan Oskey, Bailey Cochran, Caroline Moore, Lila Hunsucker, Claire Osbolt, Brooklyn Bostwick, Ava Parker, Eva Pritchard and Madi Fillingim. There are three eighth graders on the JV team including Morgan Oskey, Bailey Cochran and Addie Bell.
