The Pike County Parks and Recreation Authority is hosting the Baseball/Softball Opening Day parade on Saturday, March 19 starting at 9 a.m. and will require the temporary closure of Highway 19 between Old Zebulon Road at Christ Chapel to the intersection of Highway 19 and Williamson/Zebulon Road.
“Due to the size of the parade, we anticipate this section of highway will be closed from 9 a.m. to approximately 10 a.m.,” said Zebulon city manager Larry Mitcham.
As an alternate route, vehicles traveling north on Highway 19 can turn right onto Highway 109 east which will intersect with Highway 18. Turn right onto Highway 18 and follow it until it meets with Highway 341 in Barnesville then turn left onto Highway 341 and go north toward Griffin.
Likewise, vehicles traveling south on Highway 19 could take Highway 341 toward Barnesville and then Highway 36 toward Thomaston.
