Local attorney Marcia Calloway-Ingram was appointed as Pike County’s Chief Magistrate Judge by Superior Court Judges Christopher Edwards and Tommy Hankinson today. She was selected following interviews with 16 other applicants. She will be sworn in Friday, May 28 at noon in the courthouse courtroom and she will begin work June 1.”An attorney for almost 20 years and Pike County native, Ms. Calloway-Ingram received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies at Georgia State University and was a 1991 graduate of Georgia State University Law School,” read a statement released by the Griffin Judicial Circuit Superior Court. “She has practiced law in the superior, juvenile, magistrate and probate courts of Georgia.”Calloway-Ingram also was the initial director of the Griffin Judicial Circuit Alternative Dispute Resolution divorce mediation program. She is president of the Pike County Arts Council, Molena Fest coordinator, member of the Chamber of Commerce and coordinator of Third Fridays on the Square.
