Pike County’s chief appraiser resigns

Pike County’s chief appraiser Jeannie Ayer Haddock, 37, is expected to start work as early as Thursday as Lamar County’s chief appraiser. She will earn an annual salary of $52,000. Her resignation in Pike County was effective this morning. ”She did submit her resignation this morning and her last day was to have been April 16, but during the course of the meeting her desire to leave in advance of that date became very apparent,” said Pike County clerk Teresa Watson. “She terminated her employment as of today.” Watson said an interim chief appraiser will be appointed while the job search is conducted or a restructuring of the Pike County Department of Property Assessment is undertaken.
