The number of confirmed COVID cases in Pike fell from 12 to 10 over the past two weeks, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Pike County has had a total of 3,007 confirmed cases since the pandemic started in 2020 as well as 80 confirmed deaths, 25 probable deaths and 213 hospitalizations.
The Georgia DPH is now offering the new bivalent COVID-19 booster. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommend the bivalent booster by Pfizer for those 12 and older, and they recommend the bivalent booster by Moderna for adults aged 18 and older.
