Pike hosts Movies in the Park

Pike County parks and recreation will be busy this summer with the usual sporting teams and events but the recreation fields will also host monthly Movies In The Park.The free movies will be shown on an inflatable screen by Southern Outdoor Cinema with pre-show activities for the whole family to enjoy. The first movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2, will be shown Friday, June 24. Rio will be shown Friday, July 29 and a yet to be determined movie will be shown Friday, Aug. 26.Pre-show activities will include inflatables, face painting and music starting at 6:30 p.m. with the movies starting around dusk. Sponsorships ar still needed and can include on-screen advertisements, live recognition of sponsors through the PA system at events and opportunities to set up a table and tent or hang a banner to advertise the business.
