Pike sees power outages due to storm

Pike County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 p.m. this afternoon but the worst of the storm seems to have cleared the area. Many citizens are without power as the storms clear, and as of 3 p.m. Monday, April 3, Southern Rivers Energy reported there were 143 residences in Pike without power, 69 in Lamar, 211 in Upson and 742 in Monroe where a tornado has been reported. A tornado has been spotted in Upson County and high winds are pummeling the area. The storms could include hail and damaging winds. Have a plan for if a tornado is seen in your area. Keep up with weather forecasts so you will not be caught unaware.
