Pike County is under a flash flood watch until 1 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4. According to the National Weather Service, flooding of streams, creeks and rivers is possible and temporary flooding of streets could occur as well. The flash flood watch is in effect for all of central Georgia and parts of north Georgia. A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. The National Weather Service states that a flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding – which can be a very dangerous situation. Citizens are encouraged to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
