The third Pike County Christmas Parade and Festival will bring Christmas spirit to life this Sunday, Dec. 11 from 1 to 6 p.m. with the parade starting at 3 p.m. The festival will include dozens of vendors, a visit from Santa, inflatables, hot chocolate and live musical entertainment throughout the day. The Clark Kids will perform at 2 p.m., the Harvest Time Revival Children’s Choir will perform from 4 to 4:30 p.m., Rivers Edge bluegrass will perform at 4:30 p.m. and the Pike County Arts Council Junior Players will perform from 4:40 to 5 p.m. with the Pike County Elementary School chorus performing from 5 to 5:30 p.m.Meghan Gregg will be the parade’s Grand Marshall. She started playing 8U softball at the Pike recreation department and made a career out of the sport, earning a scholarship to the University of Tennessee where she is a team captain and where she played every game in her freshman season at shortstop, leading the team with 18 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI games. She helped lead her team to the Women’s College World Series that year and was named Tennessee’s top offensive player from the SEC Tournament through NCAA Super Regionals. She is in her sophomore year and has many other collegiate accolades in addition to earning a National Championship with the 18U Atlanta Vipers and earning four GISA region titles and three state championships with Flint River Academy. She was also named the Georgia High School Gatorade Player of the Year.
Pike’s Christmas parade is Sunday at 3 p.m.
