Pike County’s Relay for Life celebration will offer fun for the entire family Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Pike County track and will include live music, inflatables, games, a scavenger hunt, arts, silent auctions and all types of vendors. This year’s goal is to raise $52,500. Local sponsorship opportunities are available and luminaria bags and torches are being sold as well. Â ’If you have ever wondered how you can make a difference, then please join us in our efforts to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life,’ said Karen Bennett, Pike County lead. ‘Relay For Life is a family oriented event. Former and current cancer patients, their families, and the public are invited to take part in this exciting team relay event.’The opening ceremony which will include the Survivor Lap, Caregiver Lap and Team Banner Lap will start at 11 a.m. Inflatables, games, a scavenger hunt, vendors and other festivities will continue throughout the day. Singer Autumn Clark will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. A second Survivor Lap will be held at 7 p.m.The popular Mr. Relay contest will be held at 7:30 p.m. Local men will dress as women and lip sync to their favorite song. Participants are encouraged to begin walking the track at 6 p.m. to collect donations. Mr. Relay prizes will be given for the best dressed, most talented and most money collected.
