Pirates are state champions again!

The Pirates defeated Redan in the first game of the state championship 6-2 but then ran into some trouble in the second game of the double header, losing a close 2-0. The last out was a pop out for the Pirates to win the state championship title!!

Coleman Johnson came through with a two-RBI triple on two outs to put the Pirates up 5-3 as the Pirates headed into the top of the seventh! Braden Osbolt made a great play to prevent the go-ahead run with a double play at the Pirates headed to the bottom of the sixth still tied at 3-3. Redan came back to tie it up 3-3 in the top of the fifth and the Pirates weren’t able to put up any runs in the bottom of the inning so they headed into the sixth inning all tied up.
