Pirates earn split; game three Wednesday

When the smoke cleared after a wild afternoon at Jack Pilkenton Field Tuesday, the Pike County Pirates had earned a split with Blessed Trinity in the Class AA baseball quarterfinals. Game three is Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Pike gave up 20 hits including seven home runs in an 18-4 loss in the opener. However, Pike bounced back to take game two 5-4. Jonathan Norton got the game-winning run on a balk. Chris Long, Kody Adams and Blake Edwards homered for the Pirates who ae now 27-5.
