Pirates football heads to Southwest Macon

The Pirates football team has had a tough start to the season with a 2-0 record so far.

The Pirates will head to Southwest Macon this Friday, aiming to pick up their first victory of the season before returning to Pike for a three-game home stand.

The Pirates lost to Jasper County in a non-region game Aug. 25 by a score of 42-6. The Pike County boys gave up 442 total yards to the Jasper County Hurricanes.

The team will return to Pirate Stadium Friday, Sept. 8 to face non-region opponent Randolph-Clay High School of Cuthbert with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The team and community will celebrate Homecoming Friday, Sept. 15 as the Pirates face non-region opponent Howard High School with kick off at 7:30 p.m.

The final four games of the Pirates schedule will be region games as Pike County High School faces Upson-Lee on Oct. 6, Jackson on Oct. 20, Peach County on Oct. 27 and Mary Persons on Nov. 3.
