The Pike Pirates and Lady Pirates fell a combined total of five points short of advancing in the Region 5AA basketball tournament here Thursday. First round games were played at the PCHS gym. The Crawford County Eagles knocked off the Pirates 52-48 in the first round while the Lady Pirates fell 45-44 to the Spencer Owls.
