Pirates soccer starts season strong at 4-2

The Pirates boys soccer team started the season with a hot streak as they won their first four games while outscoring their opponents 21-4. They have yet to lose a region game but lost to Houston County 2-1 on Feb. 10 and to Oconee County 4-1 on Feb. 23.

The Pirates soccer team includes #0 sophomore Jack Hammond, #1 sophomore Kole Baldwin, #2 senior Kyle Keese, #3 senior Andrew Edwards, #4 sophomore Greyson Jones, #5 sophomore Jaxon Warburton, #6 freshman Carter York, #7 senior Luke Mann, #8 junior Owen Lowe, #9 senior Joshua Tomarchio, #12 senior Christian Fowler, #14 senior Tobey Maxedon, #17 freshman Gray Cook, #21 junior Jonah Tea, #22 junior Emannuel Torres, #24 senior Jordan Thompson, #29 senior Sebastian Facundo, #31 senior Robert Chambley, #60 senior Phillip Smith and #99 junior Kip Bryant.

The team is led by head coach Kevin Hobbs and assistant coach Alex Avila.

The Pirates will play Mary Persons on the road Feb. 27 after the Journal Reporter’s press deadline.
The Pirates will host Peach County at 7 p.m. March 1 and Lamar County at 7:30 p.m. March 5. They will travel to Upson-Lee for a 7:30 p.m. game March 8.
