Pirates soccer undefeated in region

The Pirates boys soccer team is first in the region with a 5-0 undefeated region record and a 10-2 overall record. The teams have outscored opponents 47-15 and are on a six-game winning streak.

Senior Christian Fowler and sophomore Jack Hammond each scored a goal in the Pirates’ 2-1 victory over the Peach County Trojans on March 19. Fowler is ranked 14th in the nation and fourth in Georgia for points scored. He leads Class 3A and and 3A Area 1 with 21 goals and 55 points in 12 games played.

Pike County was led to victory March 19 by the tag-team duo of Christian Fowler and Jack Hammond, who scored both of Pike County’s goals. The pair have combined for a total of 22 so far this season.

The team hosted region opponents Upson-Lee on March 26 at 7:30 p.m. after the Journal Reporter’s press deadline. The Pirates face Jackson on the road at 7:30 p.m. March 28. They will host teams the weekend of April 4-5.
