Players, coaches supported at special Meet The Pirates

The stadium was filled with families and community members for Friday night’s Meet the Pirates event as the team prepares for the season. 

The Pirates are in Region 2 this year and will face Upson-Lee, Jackson, Mary Persons and Peach County in region play. 

The Pirates’ offensive coordinator Bryan Holley was promoted to head coach to replace Brad Webber who is now the linebacker and strength coach at Mary Persons High School. 

Coach Holley joined the Pirates staff in 2020 after four seasons as Whitewater’s coach (with an 18-24 record). He served as offensive coordinator for Starr’s Mill’s state runner-up team in 2010 and coached 10 seasons in Kentucky before that.

The Pirates will start the season with a scrimmage game against Hampton on the road at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12. 

The Pirates start the regular season with a three-game home stand with games starting at 7:30 p.m. all season. The Pirates will host Temple on Friday, Aug. 19 for their first game of the season. They will host Jasper County on Friday, Aug. 26 and SW Macon on Friday, Sept. 2.
