The Pike County Arts Council will host the Family Pumpkin Decorating Contest and Art In Bloom Show this weekend at the Concord Country Jubilee. The PCAC Junior Players will also perform during the Jubilee, taking the stage at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Strickland building. The pumpkin decorating contest will start with registration from 10 to 11 a.m. at the PCAC booth. There is a $5 entry fee per pumpkin. Cash prizes will be presented to the first, second and third place winners. Pumpkins can be decorated from 11 a.m. to 12 noon then displayed for contest voting until 2 p.m. when the winners will be announced. An artist’s reception for the Art In Bloom Show will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Strickland building. Visitors can view the show during the Jubilee Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 19 from 12 noon to 6 p.m.The Arts Council will also host a Halloween Haunted Trail Friday, Oct. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Zebulon City Park next to city hall.
