Community members and cancer survivors will join together for the Pike County Relay for Life set for 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 13 at the Pike County track. Twelve teams have already signed up to participate in the event and this year’s goal is to raise $35,000. Opening ceremonies will start at 6 p.m. with the survivor lap set for 6:30 p.m., the luminaria ceremony set for 10:30 p.m. and closing ceremonies set for 11:30 p.m. ’The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action to finish the fight once and for all,’ said Relay community manager Shea Costantino. ‘Individuals and teams raise funds and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer.’Volunteers are still needed for this year’s Relay and they can contact Costantino at 908-581-7459 or shea.costantino@cancer.org.
