Remnants of hurricane could drench Pike

The remnants of Hurricane Ida, now downgraded to a tropical storm, are expected to being heavy rains to Pike County beginning about midnight Monday. Rain is expected to begin before 1 a.m. Tuesday and become heavy by 3 a.m. Heavy rain is expected to continue through 8 p.m. Tuesday before turning to showers. The rain is expected to end at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, in time to allow for outdoor Veterans Day observances here. Winds up to 20 mph are anticipated in connection with the storm. A flood watch has been issued for the area in that rainfall amounts of up to four inches are expected with this system.
