Rita Lorraine Grisham, age 66, of Molena, passed away June 21, 2022.
Rita was born on September 27, 1955, to the late Paul and Barbara Simonds. She grew up alongside two brothers and one sister. Rita was wed to David Grisham on July 15, 1977. The couple settled in Molena where they raised their son David Joe Jr. and daughter Kelly.
Rita was crafty and enjoyed decorative painting. She was a member of the Dogwood Chapter of The Society of Decorative Painters. She also painted with the Nifty Crafters in Meansville. Rita was so passionate about her craft that she even co-authored the book Ornaments To Light Up Your Tree. Rita was a longtime volunteer at Callaway Gardens. She especially loved their Christmas and Halloween celebrations and how the park was decorated. She liked to hike, swim and workout at the gym. Rita was a sweet and loving wife, mother and Grandmama. She loved her family and adored her grandsons.
Rita is survived by her husband: David Joe Grisham, Sr. of Molena; son: David Joe Grisham Jr. and his wife Melissa of Senoia; daughter: Kelly Herring of Zebulon; beloved grandsons: David Jacob Grisham, Ashton Joseph Herring and Aidan Matthew Herring; sister: Judy Andrews; brothers: Robert Simonds and Casey Barber; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Rita’s honor from 1 PM to 4 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Encounter Life Church, 620 Greison Trail, Newnan, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that guests bring an inflated balloon to release at the service. The Grisham family is being assisted by Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, 10170 Hwy 19 N, Zebulon, GA.
