Robberies reported in Hollonville area

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office recently solved an armed robbery case and are now asking citizens to help with burglaries in the Hollonville area. Sheriff’s investigators are currently investigating several burglaries reported in the Hollonville area over the past week. Two properties in the Turner Road and Blanton Mill Road were burglarized in the past two weeks. Citizens were notified by using the Code Red System, formerly DeltAlert. Citizens in the area are advised to be on the alert for anything out of the ordinary such as people who do not belong in the area or any people and vehicles seem suspicious. ”Any citizens who see any suspicious vehicles or persons are asked to call 911 to make a report,” said investigator Maj. David Neal. Pike County Sheriff’s Investigators recently solved the 2010 armed robbery of the Molena Food Mart. It was reported that a masked male came into the store armed with a handgun and demanded the money from the clerk while firing the gun several times in the store. After the robbery, investigators recovered the mask and other clothing wore by the suspect a short distance from the scene. DNA testing that was requested by sheriff’s investigators led to a match on a suspect. Robert Tucker III, 34, was a match to the DNA tested. Tucker is currently in prison for another armed robbery conviction out of Upson County. Investigators will obtain an arrest warrant for Tucker charging him with Armed Robbery.
