In an attempt to provide a safe location for the residents of Pike County and the city of Zebulon, an internet exchange area has been set up for citizens involved in online sales and purchases. The area can be used for other situations as well, such as for child custody swaps for parents. The Zebulon Police Department and chief Jonathan Hemphill designated an area in the side parking lot at City Hall which is under 24 hour video surveillance. The footage will be monitored by ZPD personnel. ’Please feel free to use this area for your transactions or anything else that video surveillance may assist you in,’ said chief Hemphill. ‘If something happens that will require the surveillance to be recorded, that means a crime would have been committed and we will investigate the matter.’
