Santa Claus is coming to town …

The annual Lighting of Concord will fill downtown Concord with Christmas spirit Friday, Dec. 3 as Santa Claus arrives by helicopter and the town is illuminated with Christmas lights and fire boxes. Festivities will begin in downtown Concord at 6 p.m. with supper served at two locations along Main Street. Santa Claus will arrive by helicopter at 6:45 p.m. to visit with children from ages 1 to 101 in the Strickland Building. The Zebulon Downtown Development Authority and downtown merchants invite the community to the annual Christmas on the Square Saturday, Dec. 4. The celebration will include the annual parade of lights that will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Zebulon city hall and travel around the courthouse square. Santa will arrive on the back of a fire engine, ready to hear holiday requests from good little girls and boys. Area merchants will offer Christmas specials amid holiday caroling and choir performances.
